Behind the Brand

The Story

Hey! Thank you for stopping by. I'm Jessica (in the pink), creator of Gray & Bay Horse Co.

I was an avid Equestrian, showing in Hunters at venues around BC. In 2016, I became a mother of 2. Carefree hours at the barn turned into making endless snacks and trendy riding clothes were traded for sweats & leggings.

I desperately missed showing and longed to feel in-touch with the horse world again. I’ve always wanted to start a business and did not want to go back to the fast paced life in corporate real estate.

My vision was to create a brand that made me feel connected with the Equestrian sport but keeping comfort & style in mind, of course! I wanted pieces that were practical out of the saddle and essential for running errands, school drop off, working from home, working out or just chilling on the couch but also suitable for weekend brunch with the girls.

So here’s to all the horse people that resonate with my story. To those who are missing their younger riding days, on hiatus, thinking about returning as an Adult rider, maybe you’ve hung up your own breeches to make way for the new Equestrian in the family or just wish you had more time in the saddle. No matter what stage of riding you’re in, you’ll always be an Equestrian. I created Gray & Bay Horse Co. to celebrate all of us.

How it all started

After some research and a lot of youtube videos, I bought a heat press, designed a few prints and in 2016, Gray & Bay Horse Co. was born - on the laundry room floor to be exact. In 2017, our first collection was created - this consisted of a whopping collection of... 4 t-shirts! hey, big dreams have to start somewhere right?! But in a short period of time, we grew and were shipping out orders to retail shops across Canada & USA as well reaching customers internationally.

Although times have changed and I, thankfully no longer work on the laundry room floor but our top priority still remains the same - to offer original, quality pieces & provide awesome customer experience.
All of our pieces are designed & printed in Canada at the Gray & Bay Horse Co. office in Vancouver, BC Canada
